ABOUT

2021's release is no different than past releases in terms of Brown-Forman knocking it out of the park. The nose is the show's star, providing a depth that few bourbons can match. It’s full of rich flavors and depth that utilize every one of the 14 years the bourbon spent in a barrel to its advantage. The palate is nearly as delectable, highlighting various spices and fruits, with its 130-proof punching through and reminding you of its presence throughout. Finally, the sip ends with a dry flavor profile encapsulated with an ever-present heat.

King of Kentucky 2022 comes in two different batches. The first is the regular King of Kentucky release, a 15-year-old bourbon bottled at 130.6 proof. (which is what we have) The barrels pulled for this release yielded a combined 3,500 bottles. A second batch, labeled with gold trim, marks the 5th anniversary of the revived brand. This one is 18 years old, bottled at 130.3 proof, and had a production run of just 250 or so. The bottle we have is the regular, 15-year-old version.
