King Of Kentucky Bourbon

King of Kentucky Bourbon is a single-barrel, barrel-strength Kentucky straight bourbon drawn from long-aged stocks and bottled with minimal interference. The 2025 edition carries a 17-year age statement and typically lands around 127 proof, depending on the individual barrel. Everything rests on the Early Times mashbill of 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley, aged in heat-cycled warehouses.

The nose feels dense and deliberate. Dark graham cracker, vanilla bean, and charred oak roll out first, sweetened by hints of port wine, cognac, and milk-chocolate-coated coconut. Seasoned leather, pipe tobacco, and polished antique wood add a dry, old-rickhouse character, giving the aroma shape and gravitas.

On the palate, intensity arrives in layers. Thick caramel, almost butterscotch, spreads over the tongue with dark chocolate, black tea, and tannic oak gripping the sides of your mouth. Baked apples, pear skins, and caramel apple notes echo the nose, joined by clove, peppercorn, and a line of tobacco and leather.

The finish goes on and on. Dark chocolate mocha, leathery tannins, nutmeg, and cinnamon linger with drying oak, leaving a slow, chest-warming glow rather than sharp heat. Eventually, echoes of Graham cracker, port-soaked fruit, coconut, and cigar wrapper stay behind in the empty glass.

It’s an unapologetically mature bourbon, built for slow, focused sessions rather than casual sipping.
