ABOUT

Tenuta Tavignano is located in Cingoli, a small, hilltop city situated in the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi appellation of Italy.
Owners Beatrice Lucangeli and Stefano Aymerich bought this 568 acre property in 1992 and over the next three years planted 37 acres with Verdicchio, 24 acres to Montepulciano and 12 acres to Sangiovese.
The vines were planted at 2,070 feet on medium textured, loose clay based soils and are farmed in a sustainable manner.

Agronomist Dr. Pierluigi Lorenzetti and oenologists Dr. Pierluigi Lorenzetti and Dr. Giulio Piazzini guide the development of the wines.

TASTING NOTES

100% Verdicchio. Fruit harvested from an eight acre, southwest facing parcel was cold macerated, fermented and matured with its lees in steel tanks and then aged in bottle for at least three months before release. Misco is the ancient name for the Musone river that flows into the Lake Cingoli. Straw yellow in color, this wine offers typical varietal notes of fresh fruit, green apple and tropical fruit, brush flowers and hay with a slightly bitter aftertaste of almonds.

FOOD PAIRING

Pairs well with herby pasta sauces like pesto, white fish or vegetable dishes.
