ABOUT
ABOUT
Three barrels. Three distilleries. One collector-grade lineup.
This bundle brings together three of The Prime Barrel's single barrel picks — a pair of rye whiskeys that couldn't be more different from each other, plus a 4-grain wheated bourbon that breaks the mold entirely. It's a set built for whiskey lovers who want range: heritage grain, old-world distilling, modern innovation, and a full spectrum of cask strength flavor in one lineup.
Mugen Spirit Yokai Kuko — Pick #163 (127.3 proof)
A 9-year, 10-month, 4-grain wheated bourbon from Louisville's Mugen Spirit, built on a mashbill anchored by honey roasted malt. Toasted honey, graham cracker, baked apple, and a long praline finish make this one of the richest, most dessert-forward bourbons in the current lineup. Only six barrels of this mashbill exist — this was the first ever claimed by a private group.
Leopold Bros. "The Ryevivalist" — Pick #160 (110 proof)
A 9-year, cask-strength rye distilled on a resurrected pre-Prohibition three-chamber still — a process untouched for over 50 years before its revival. Made from 80% heritage Abruzzi rye and 20% floor-malted barley, it's floral, oily, and viscous, with cinnamon apple, wildflower honey, and a lingering spiced finish. The very first private barrel Leopold Bros. has ever released.
Nashville Barrel Company "Smashville" — Pick #84 (116.88 proof)
A 6-year single barrel straight rye distilled in Indiana, offering an entirely different rye experience: seasoned wood, pastry cream, snickerdoodle, and dried dill on the nose, moving into brown spice, apple pie filling, and candied ginger on the palate. It finishes with silky caramel and black pepper, staying approachable even at cask strength.
Why This Bundle
Pour these three side by side, and you get a masterclass in what single barrel whiskey can be — a modern craft bourbon pushing mashbill boundaries, a floral and viscous heritage-grain rye from a nearly extinct distilling method, and an accessible, spice-driven rye that shows how much range the category holds. It's a lineup built for tasting nights, gifting, or rounding out a serious collection with three genuinely rare pours.
Perfect for: whiskey collectors, rye enthusiasts, tasting groups comparing distilling methods, or anyone building a cask-strength flight that spans bourbon and rye.
