A 15-year, 8-month Kentucky straight bourbon — identified as a sixth BuffTurkey selection — finished for over 7 months in an ex-Chichibu whisky cask from Japan. The barrel itself has lived a full-circle story: filled in Kentucky, shipped to Japan, refilled with Chichibu whisky, emptied, returned stateside, and refilled again with 15+ year bourbon. The result is cask strength at 121.2 proof, opening with caramel and vanilla before unfolding into baked orchard fruit, cardamom, dried wildflowers, and a gently drying, tea-like finish with warm honeyed cinnamon. Only five barrels of Nobunaga exist worldwide.
