2020 Jean Perrier et Fils Abymes Gastronomie Vin de Savoie
Founded in 1853. Gilbert Perrier and his son are the fifth and sixth generation to make wine in this picturesque Alpine region. The domaine has slowly expanded over the generations and maintaining quality has always been the priority. Vineyard work is sustainable, grapes are hand-harvested and gently vinified in stainless steel tanks. The wines are classic, crisp, and pure Savoie character. 100% Jacquere. The Abymes appellation sits lower and the slope than the Apremont and is on generally flatter land. Stainless steel fermentation and aging.
Light medium-bodied, quite dry. Limpid in the glass with a subtle nose of pears and fresh mountain air. Citrus, flowers, and minerals throughout the palate and finish.
Pair with fondue and raclette, but also works with chicken and fish.
