Franck Givaudin is the 5th generation of his family to run this vineyard. Irancy is a small sheltered valley up near Chablis in northern Burgundy. All the grapes from Franck Givaudin's estate are organically grown, hand-harvested, and fermented with natural yeast.
100% Pinot Noir from a 9 hectare vineyard of 30-year old vines grown on mainly limestone soils. Hand-harvested and fermented with native yeast. Fermentation lasts for 8-10 weeks and then 15% of the wine is aged in barrique for 1 year.
TASTING NOTES
Medium-bodied, dry. Flush with raspberry, cherry, and strawberry on the nose and throughout the palate. Rich, velvety, berry flavor on a dry finish of minerals, tannin, bright acidity, and flowers.
FOOD PAIRING
Pair with lean meats, charcuterie, cheeses, and soups with a tomato base.
