Chateau Puybarbe, a 33-hectare estate managed by the Orlandi family since 1952, is perched on one of the highest hills of the right bank's Côtes de Bourg appellation, in the village of Mombrier. 'Puybarbe', in fact, is the name given to one of the highest points in the locale, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the region, and see even as far as the city of Bordeaux. The blend here is 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Silky texture, opulent nose, with aromas of cherry and blackberry notes and hints of cinnamon. The mouth is ample and fleshy. Tannins are present, long finish.
Drink with roast rib of beef with all the trimmings.
