Buffalo Trace Experimental 11 Year 9 Mths Rye Bourbon 115 Proof

Only two barrels of this Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection release were bottled, making the Rye Bourbon 115 pretty limited. This experiment is an analysis of how barrel entry proof of rye bourbon mash #1 will impact bourbon’s flavor.  The 115 barrel entry proof has light oaky flavors mingled with leather and palm sugar.

Racy on the nose, with Madeira and Port-like notes. Bold on the palate, with notes of sherry, clove-studded orange, and vanilla caramel on the finish. Great balance here, with a rich, well-rounded body.
