Eigashima Shuzo defies conventional aging paradigms. Nestled near the salty shores of Kobe Bay, this historic producer quietly crafts some of Japan's most fascinating spirits at their White Oak facility. The distillery employs five devoted artisans. This intimate scale empowers them to execute a wildly diverse maturation program, pulling character from several distinct vessels:

• First-fill ex-bourbon barrels
• Rich Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks
• Unconventional brandy and shochu wood

The resulting mosaic of wood finishes weaves a genuinely breathtaking tapestry of flavor, transforming lightly peated Scottish barley into a remarkably cohesive coastal malt.
