NV Ca’Liptra Amista Marche Rosso

90% Montepulciano and 10% Sangiovese from a 0.25ha parcel planted in 1985, facing east at 250m, on clay-limestone soil. The grapes are destemmed and crushed. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in stainless steel with a brief maceration of 3-4 days. Aging occurs in a 6500L stainless steel tank and two used 225L barriques. Amista is a literary form of amicizia, meaning friendship.

Rather than offer a Montepulciano that is overwrought with color, structure, and alcohol, Ca'Liptra prefers to reflect their cool microclimate and gentle east-facing vineyard with a lighter, thirst-quenching wine that can be drunk in all seasons. 1400 bottles produced.
