W.L. Weller CYPB Original Wheated Bourbon

Weller CYPB (Craft Your Perfect Bourbon) is a unique expression born from the collective choices of whiskey enthusiasts. This limited edition whiskey, distilled by Buffalo Trace, follows a wheated bourbon recipe, aged for eight years on the highest warehouse floors, and bottled at 95 proof. The CYPB initiative allowed enthusiasts to influence the whiskey's characteristics, resulting in a harmoniously crafted bourbon that reflects the preferences of its dedicated fans.

Nose: Stone fruit, crushed fruit (raspberries, cherries), beautiful sweet sugary notes, a touch of lemon. The caramel notes take a back-seat (for a bourbon), but they’re beautiful. Dusty notes.
Palate: A wonderful hit of flavor, crushed citrus, brown sugar sweetness, great oak spice. The finish is fantastic. The flavors hit the palate hard. Crushed fruit carries through from front to back, and the transition from sweetness to spice, to dry sweet (think vermouth) finish is really quite incredible. Nice licorice elements.
Overall: This is quite possibly the best Weller product out there. The elements are true Weller, amped up. Even compared to the 107, which is an immediate blast of flavor, this is more rewarding in terms of depth.
