ABOUT
ABOUT
This Heritage Barrel Single Barrel from Jack Daniel’s feels like a backstage pass to Lynchburg’s experimental rackhouses, not just another Tennessee bottle. Built from the classic 80/12/8 mash bill, it’s charcoal mellowed, then laid into heavy-toast, low-char barrels at a low 100 proof entry. Those barrels rest for at least seven years in the highest, hottest barrelhouses, concentrating sweetness, oak depth, and that distinct toasted edge.
The nose steps out toasty, with vanilla fudge, graham cracker, and marshmallow drifting over banana bread, caramel, and a hint of charred oak. Light baking spice, clove, and nutmeg flicker in, joined by subtle maple and dried fruit. It smells unapologetically dessert-leaning.
On the palate, the whiskey lands rich and mouth-coating, folding vanilla cream, toasted oak, graham cracker, toffee, and baking spice together. A streak of grilled banana, roasted pecan, and maple syrup keeps things playful instead of heavy.
The finish rolls on with toasted oak, brown sugar, and lingering marshmallow over light char and gentle baking spice. Sweetness fades slowly, leaving toasted wood, vanilla, and a faint echo of banana bread. It feels like a fireside sipper built for unhurried evenings and easy company.
