The High Rye Fill Date was over 8 years ago, 8/22/14. The Low Rye Fill Date is just a hair under 8 years 12/22/14.

Nose: A fantastic mature Rye spice. This is a bourbon drinker's Rye even on the nose. Notably dark in appearance.

Palate: Dark Chocolate, Minty (like an Andy's Mint), with Christmas Candy vibes. Ridiculously crushable and Oily. Kira is a connoisseur of fine Ryes, and this one knocked her socks off with its darker flavor profile (chocolate notes throughout) and complexity. David and Trev agreed that you don't have to be a big Rye fan to love this - this is a bourbon drinker's Rye.

Finish: A very long tingly chocolate finish. The impressive finish was a leading factor in why we selected this barrel.

A good bourbon lovers rye

Fair amount of rye spiciness, but still has the caramel sweetness and oak that a bourbon drinker will love. Proof is just about right. I wish I had bought a few more.

Incredible Rye

The normal Sagamore release is usually pretty good, but this was on another level.

The whiskey is on the sweeter end of the rye whiskey spectrum. With notes of mint, chocolate and rye spice punching through it is like a Christmas cocktail without mixing anything. The whiskey drinks below it's proof. Very easy to sip.

All in all, an incredible pour for the price tag. I would highly recommend it.
