This wide-body, one liter bottle with flashy pink lettering on the label can't be taken too seriously after all. The brainchild of Michael Schmelzer of Monte Bernardi fame, Italia Ti Amo is actually a blend of red grapes from all over Italy including (but not limited to) Sangiovese from Tuscany, Montepulciano from the Marche and Nero d'Avola from Sicily. All of these grapes are organically farmed and somehow they blend together like they were meant for each other.
TASTING NOTES
Dark spices combine with fresh berry fruits to create a wine with accessibility and a beguiling complexity.
