The Kautz Family grows Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in several of Lodi’s sub-appellations as well as the Calaveras County growing region of the Sierra Foothills. These different locations provide diverse soils and climate that, when combined, create a more complex wine than one region alone. The wine was aged for six months in new French oak.
TASTING NOTES
Dark cherry and vanilla aromas lead into juicy black currant, raspberry and dark cherry flavors. The wine presents luscious tannins, with notes of toasty oak.
FOOD PAIRING
Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic pairing partner for a variety of roasted, broiled or barbequed beef dishes. Its magnificent flavor and structure also works well with lamb, wild game such as venison and wild boar, hearty vegetarian dishes, as well as strong cheeses.
