Ferreira 2010 Late Bottled Vintage Port



Late Vintage Port is made entirely from grapes harvested in a specific year from a variety of vineyards, but is then left to age in barrel for four-six years before bottling, compared to around 18 months for Vintage Port. A deep ruby color, nearly opaque with complex aromas, dominated by plum and blackcurrant. There are spicy, peppery elements as well, cloves, nutmeg, truffles and forest floor, also light herby notes and some minerality. It has plenty of body, very good tannins, bright but well-balanced acidity, and clear flavors of red and black fruits. A long, expressive finish.
