Carpano Vermouth Antica Formula

Carpano Antica Formula is a renowned sweet vermouth from Italy, praised for its rich and complex flavor profile. Originating from a recipe developed by Antonio Benedetto Carpano in 1786, this vermouth is produced using white wines from selected Italian grape varieties and a mix of botanicals including vanilla from Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, and Tahiti, high-quality saffron from Iran, and wormwood from the Piedmont and Aosta Valley in Italy.

The production process involves both hot infusion and cold extraction techniques to draw out the flavors from the botanicals, which are then refined over several months to enhance their aromatic intensity. The result is a vermouth with a distinctive bouquet, characterized by vanilla, spices, citrus, and dried fruit notes, making it ideal for refined and exclusive cocktails.

The flavor profile includes a well-rounded taste of rich vanilla, complemented by bitter orange, dates, cocoa beans, and saffron flavors, which contribute to its light brown color with an amber hue. Carpano Antica Formula is typically enjoyed on its own as an apéritif or as a key ingredient in various cocktails, such as the Negroni Sbagliato or Americano.

A delicious high-end Vermouth with rich flavors of orange peel, red fruits, vanilla, spice and oak.

Enjoy on the rocks with soda, or add depth and intensity your next cocktail.
