The fruit was sourced from the Vinho Verde region, which stretches from the Spanish border to south of Oporto. The vines are planted on hillsides of acid rich, granite based soils with areas of schist or slate and clay. To preserve the trademark fizz of Vinho Verde, Bartholomew ships the wines in refrigerated containers.
