The tradition of keeping an infinity bottle is well known to whiskey collectors and aficionados around the world. Take the last ounces of each whisk(e)y bottle as you finish it, and pour them into a bottle you’ve set aside.
Barrell Craft Spirits is honoring the Infinity bottle tradition in our own way by introducing the Infinite Barrel Project.Crisply textured, richly aromatic and seemingly hand-polished, the Barrell Whiskey Infinite Barrel Project combines and delivers different styles of whiskey into a racy and cerebral dram. The whiskey is piquant with overlaying sheets of sweet condensed milk caramels and copper pot cooked blackberry jam with hints of crushed fall leaves and long winters. The prolonged and enigmatic finish is reminiscent of saline drenched staves of toasty, charred oak and ladles of flor rich, Oloroso Sherry.
Appearance: The bronze core dissolves into wisps of gold leaf cascading into brilliantly polished silver that is marbled with honey bubbles.
Nose: Spring strawberries and raw clover honey followed by bursts of smoked fruit and unsweetened cocoa, coated with marzipan and walnuts.
Palate: Thick slabs of cast iron seared gingerbread painted with a molten wash of frizzled shallot brown butter.
Finish: Crunchy pork skin, sumptuous candied yam pudding and deeply toasted, corn hushpuppies dusted with confectioners sugar, lead into tiny bursts of sea salt, orange zest and sizzling hot chili peppers.
With a few drops of limestone spring water: Tangy and exotic with a multi-minute finish redolent of sea foam, bitter almond paste and citrus zest. Each slightly softened sip brings a new complexity. With more drops of water added, puffs of cinnamon toast smeared with brown butter are revealed.
