Found North 18 Years Old "Second Summit" Cask Strength Whisky Batch 006-S

When Found North made Batch 006, they took 500 liters of that blend and filled a Spanish oak Pedro Ximénez sherry butt. They further matured the blend for an additional eight months. While the original blend was made of a range of 17-26-year-old whisky, with the additional time in the barrel, the whisky matured into an 18-year-old age statement. The resulting whisky was bottled at 129.8 proof with a grain ratio of 87% corn, 12% rye, and 1% malted barley. 

On the nose, the whisky presents orchard fruits, berry preserves, and shortbread cookies. It possesses a rich florality and dried citrus fruit quality that carries into the palate. The palate is incredibly well-rounded, touching each corner of the flavor map - sweet, citrus, savory, and spicy. The finish is long, warming, and full of milk chocolate, orange peel, and tree nuts. Just over 100 cases were produced.
