ABOUT
ABOUT
The fruit was harvested from vines that are an average of 15 years old and were planted on medium textured clay based soils. The grapes were fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatics. Valerio Vini is the oldest continuously run winery in Molise, Italy. The founder, Prince Giovanni Pignatelli built the cellar in Monteroduni and planted vineyards in 1972. Antonio Valerio bought the property in 2004 and embarked on a long-term restoration project, beginning with the vineyards. The estate is planted with Sangiovese, Montepulciano and an indigenous varietal, Tintilia. Antonio has retained the help of renowned wine consultant, Dr. Riccardo Catarella and along with the recent DOC Pentro designation, this winery and region is poised for growth.
