    Peg Leg Porker is a BBQ restaurant located in Nashville, TN owned by Pitmaster Carey Bringle who lost his leg to cancer at a young age; hence the name. Bringle says, after the whiskey is taken from its barrels, it is filtered through hickory creating the signature flavor and color. BBQ fans and bourbon fans will love this whiskey. 8+ year whiskey, 8 year age statement on the label.

A nice and smoky pour

I am no expert however the Peg Leg 8 provides a slightly different bourbon experience, likely because of the hickory filtering. The bourbon is very drinkable and runs to the sweet-is tasting side of the ledger. There is a smoky (bacon like) smell that does not overpower the flavour. I would recommend and will ensure i always have a bottle on hand. As an aside the shipping process to Alberta through DWS was pain free.
