Whistlepig 10 Years Straight Rye Whiskey

WhistlePig ‘100/100’ is a 100-proof, 100 percent rye whiskey, aged for at least ten years through a unique double-barrel process. Imported from Canada and hand bottled in Vermont, WhistlePig is overseen by former Makers Mark master distiller David Pickerell. Unlike many rye whiskeys, WhistlePig is 100% rye and is bottled at 100 proof, making this a perfect choice for cocktails.

Nose: On the nose, WhistlePig offers nice wood notes from the oak casks, with hints of vanilla and caramel. Notes of dried orange peel, cinnamon, allspice, and clove also appear, hinting at the flavors inside.

Body & Palate: WhistlePig is a rye whiskey, something with less age needs to be able to accomplish. It is rich and mouthcoating and offers classic caramel and vanilla flavors to stand up to the classic rye spiciness that emerges on the mid-palate. Later, dark chocolate and peppermint notes appear at the end.

Finish: WhistlePig straight rye has an almost creamy flavor, leaving notes of oranges, vanilla, allspice, and warm caramels to play across the palate before finishing with a hint of dark chocolate and butterscotch.
