Elijah Craig Grenade Beer Barrel Finish Kentucky Straight Bourbon

This Elijah Craig Beer Barrel Finish Bourbon is genuinely unique. It started with a special batch of Elijah Craig Bourbon produced by Heaven Hill. This wasn't just any bourbon; it was the award-winning Whiskey of the Year from 2018! Instead of discarding the used barrels, Heaven Hill collaborated with Goose Island Beer Company in Chicago. Contrary to what you might guess, these barrels weren't repurposed as planters for brewery decoration. Instead, Goose Island used them to craft an exceptional imperial stout, aged for a year and released as the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout in 2018.

But there's more to the story. Heaven Hill reclaimed three of these stout-infused barrels and refilled them with Elijah Craig Bourbon, bringing the process full circle. This bourbon was aged for 9 months in these barrels at the Heaven Hill facility in Bardstown, within Warehouse I.

The final product was then carefully bottled in the distinctive 200ml bottles known as Heaven Hill's signature "grenades."

Elijah Craig Beer Barrel Finish Bourbon is a nutty, chocolaty, caramel treat! There’s a dry but syrupy chocolate oaky finish, which sort of cleanses the palate getting me ready for the next sip. Some vanilla is in there too! Did we mention the chocolate? Not sure where all this chocolate is coming from but it’s awesome!
