Compass Box The Last Vatted Malt is a historic release marking the end of an era in Scotch whisky terminology. Bottled just before the Scotch Whisky Regulations of 2009 came into effect, this expression is the last to be legally labeled as a "Vatted Malt," a term now replaced by "Blended Malt." This whisky is a blend of 78% 26-year-old Caol Ila whisky matured in American oak hogsheads and 22% 36-year-old Glenallachie whisky aged in a first-fill sherry butt.

Nose: Mild peatiness with notes of raisins, figs, malt, and a subtle touch of almonds.

Palate: Sweet and smoky with flavors reminiscent of barbecue sauce, chili powder, and molasses.

Finish: Long and rich, with lingering notes of barbecue sauce, toasted bread, and a hint of spice.
