Old Zach is our fifth BuffTurkey release and boasts a flavor profile all its own.  Where earlier barrels were described as Dusty Funk, Balanced, Cherry Bomb, and Fruity, Old Zach is Fiery.  This barrel delivers the highest proof of the five at 131 proof. 

• Distilled:  3/26/09 by Buffalo Trace
• Age:  16 years
• Proof:  131 Proof
• Mashbill:  75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley

Tasting Notes:

• Nose:  Traditional notes of vanilla and caramel followed by black tea, light baking spices, pear and Dr. Pepper
• Palate:  Mouth warming and fiery, opens with cola, black cherry, velvety caramel and vanilla layered with barrel char, cinnamon oil, black pepper, a touch of licorice and black tea
• Finish:  Bruleed sugar, black pepper, baking spice, anise and charred oak
