Building on the success of our first collaborative release, the "Anniversary" Private Whiskey Blend from Found North and The Prime Barrel showcases the continued synergy between these two brands.

The first Found North x Prime Barrel blend, affectionately dubbed the "First Date," featured a corn-forward profile to commemorate one of our members celebrating the anniversary of his first date with his wife. For this follow-up "Anniversary" release, we wanted to switch things up a bit.

Tasting Notes:

The "Anniversary" Blend combines vibrant red fruit and floral notes, complemented by a decadent maple and taffy aroma. On the palate, this decadent whiskey delivers a luscious mouthfeel with French vanilla ice cream flavors, raspberry jam, and melted caramel. A building undercurrent of wood spice and rye spice weaves seamlessly through the syrupy sweetness, culminating in a finish of dark chocolate that beautifully complements the foundational notes.

Meticulously Crafted Cask Finishes:

This anniversary expression features whiskeys ranging from 10 to 20 years old, with two rye components aged in Cognac and Sauternes casks. The resulting grain blend is 53% rye, 45% corn, and 2% barley, bottled at a robust 111.1 proof.

The Second Found North Prime Blend presents a distinct vibrant red fruit and floral notes combined with a rich maple, taffy nose. The combination's decadent landing manifests French vanilla ice cream topped with raspberry jam and melted caramel. The syrupy quality crystalizes through the mid palate, leaving a residual sugar note humming through the finish. There is a building entanglement of wood spice and rye spice throughout the back of the palate that evolves from a gentle tannic clove into dark chocolate that mingles beautifully with its foundational sweetness.
