Chartreuse Reine des Liqueurs 2025 resurrects the storied “Queen of Liqueurs” moniker through a careful assemblage of aged Chartreuse Jaune barrels. It’s bold, refined—but rooted deeply in monastic tradition.
The monks at Grande Chartreuse select extra-mature Yellow Chartreuse casks to craft this annual release. The result: more concentrated herb notes, elevated complexity, and a softer, rounder profile than the standard Yellow. This edition is bottled at 43% ABV versus the usual 40%, giving it extra presence. 

Expect a luminous, straw-yellow hue with golden reflections. Herbaceous and floral. Citrus peel, saffron, honeyed warmth, gentian undertones, and a hint of anise blend. It is sweet but well-balanced, never leaning into saccharine territory.

Pour neat or over a large ice cube. Enjoy it as a refined digestif or treat it as an extraordinary cocktail accent.

Nose: A tender swirl of saffron, bright lemon peel, mint leaf, and subtle herbal underbrush. Beneath that: honey, thyme, and faint floral spice.

Palate: Silky and warming. Honeyed citrus leads, then gentian and artemisia arrive, backed by gentle herbs and a whisper of cardamom.

Finish: Long, satisfying, and herbally persistent. A soft bittersweet note lingers—sage, faint bitterness, and mellow citrus.

Serve with older Comté or Gruyère, dried apricot compote, or honey-glazed nuts. Try it alongside tarte tatin or citrus tarts to echo its balanced sweetness and herb layers.
