ABOUT

The "Vernaculum" is 100% Vernaccia Rosso, also known as Aleatico. The vineyards are split between two villages in Le Marche, Montalfoglio and Montevechio. Yields are restricted to just over 2 tons per acre and all the picking/vineyard selection is done by hand. After destemming, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Made to be consumed young and fresh, the "Vernaculum" is rested just 3 months in glass-lined, cement tanks before being released.

TASTING NOTES

Red cherries, crushed rose petals, dried herbs and tea leaves are among the myriad of aromas on the nose. The palate is bright and fresh, bursting with mouthwatering acidity. Feel free to drink this with a slight chill in the warmer months.

FOOD PAIRING

"Vernaculum" is traditionally served with prosciutto and coldmeat, dishes with white meat, with truffles or mushrooms and with fish stew.
