One of the all time best summer whites is Vinho Verde from Portugal.

This northern grape is one of Portugal's finest and most characterful.Its full-bodied, complex but delicate aromas reminiscent of peach, lemon, passion fruit, lychee, orange zest, jasmine, orange blossom and lemon balm.

Would pair well with grilled chicken or other lighter meats. It would also be sensational with a quiche or crab cakes as the acidity would balance out the richness of those dishes.
