ABOUT

Bojo do Luar's 2023 Luar Rosa is a captivating rosé wine from Portugal's Vinho Verde region, meticulously crafted by the innovative winemaker Fernando Paiva. This blend of 80% Azal and 20% Espadeiro grapes, indigenous to the region, showcases the winery's commitment to organic and biodynamic practices. The grapes undergo a 12-day skin maceration in traditional amphoras (talhas), with the addition of ground chestnut flowers to stabilize the fermentation naturally. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for three months in amphoras, resulting in a pure and savory expression of the terroir.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Delicate floral aromas intertwined with hints of red and blue berries, offering an inviting and aromatic bouquet.

Palate: A light-bodied wine with refreshing acidity and a zesty texture, presenting notes of tangerine, bitter cherry, and strawberry. The amphora aging imparts a subtle minerality, enhancing the wine's complexity.

Finish: A pure and savory finish with a slight tannic grip, leaving a lasting impression of freshness and elegance.

FOOD PAIRING

Luar Rosa's vibrant acidity and mineral undertones make it a versatile companion for various dishes. It pairs excellently with grilled salty fish, such as sardines or mackerel, complementing the wine's crispness. Additionally, it harmonizes well with salads featuring fresh greens, goat cheese, and citrus fruits. The wine's subtle tannins and savory finish also make it suitable for light charcuterie boards and soft cheeses
