ABOUT

The Morning Glory is a Straight Bourbon Whiskey with a mashbill composed of Corn, Rye, Kasha (toasted buckwheat), Buckwheat, and Malt. The name comes from a Tavern that operated near Campbellsburg, Indiana. Some even allege that during Prohibition it operated on the second floor of the Old Clifty Mill). Aged exclusively in our Chai cellar using 53-gallon, #2 char barrels, and a 105-entry proof, as with all our spirits we do not chill filter this offering in order to leave as much of the flavor intact as possible.
 Like all of our Bourbons, this offering is exclusively double pot distilled and uses both our self-propagated house yeasts as well as a unique brandy yeast. The mash bill is one we worked on to “balance” for quite some time. Expect some cloudiness when chilled, it's natural.

TASTING NOTES

Aroma: Toasted Kasha and a light herbaceous quality resembling mint with a hint of roasted malt. 
Front: Immediately sweet and mouth coating. Very oily with almost maple undertones. 
Mid: Toasted Kasha becomes the focus point. Like almonds roasted in butter. Viscous. Honeyed oats. 
Back: Sweet toasted nut flavors, almost cereal-like, give rise to a slightly prickly pear jelly. 
Finish: Super viscous, the flavor coats the entirety of the palate and the herbaceous/mint-like quality mixed with a bit of honeyed peanut leisurely reminds you of the unique mash bill.
