A Day at Jack Daniels: Our adventure began with a VIP tour across the Jack Daniels campus, where we witnessed the creation of sugar maple charcoal—a vital element in the whiskey's mellowing process. We watched the slow filtration of whiskey through 10 feet of charcoal and explored the cave spring water source vital to the distillery since 1866. The highlight of our visit was in one of the older rickhouses, where we sampled directly from the barrels, each a contender in its own right, making the selection challenging yet thrilling.

The Selection - "The Sting": Chosen from three exceptional barrels, "The Sting" stood out as the oldest and most robust, delivering an intensified Jack Daniels experience. At 127.5 proof, it offers a powerful nose and palate, concluding with a long, sweet finish. The name "The Sting" humorously reflects an incident with bees during our visit, adding a personal touch to this special selection.

Tasting Notes:

• Huge banana bomb on the nose that’s loaded with honey baked peanuts, toffee, sweet cream, bananas foster and tons of creamy, delicate sweetness. 
• Rich and sweet on the palate, bananas foster returns once again with tons of complexity and character. Honey roasted peanuts, toffee, cocoa, sweet buttercream, vanilla bean, some graham cracker and a kiss of oak. Proof is very much in check, no proof punishment here. 
• Long finish, thick with quintessential high proof JD notes: banana cream pie, cocoa, honey roasted nuts, butterscotch and big caramel. Killer barrel.
