Meet Compass Box Rivals Blended Malt Scotch Whisky—a bespoke tribute to the spirited rivalry of Boston and New York. Crafted in collaboration with Julio’s Liquors (Boston) and Astor Wines & Spirits (New York), this 2017 release blends malt whiskies from Macallan, Imperial (now closed), Teaninich, and Highland malts aged in French oak to create a blend that combines complexity and balance. Bottled at a refined 46% ABV (92 proof), with a natural color and non-chill-filtered, it pours a warm, light gold that shimmers with character.

At first swirl, aromas of red apple, honey, vanilla, lemon custard, dried flowers, and gentle smoke emerge. It evolves into a layered toffee, fruit, and baking spice blend—ever surprising. The finish lingers, with sweet smoke and custard fading gently into echoes of orchard fruit. A complex dram that captures a rivalry turned.

Nose: Intense peat smoke meets red apples, honey, vanilla cream, lemon custard, dried flowers, allspice.

Palate: Rich fruit and bakery tones—burnt caramel, oak spice, cinnamon and coriander balance with subtle floral and custard notes.

Finish: Long, warming, lingering with vanilla sweetness, soft smoke, dried flower echoes and orchard fruit depth.
