ABOUT

This wine has been getting a lot of attention; she made Punch’s “The 25 Essential Wines of 2016” list. Jon Bonné describes as: “full of the mineral sensations of black salt and warm rocks, plus mandarin orange fruit and a subtle herbal side.” Lovely served with a slight chill and incredibly food-friendly. This wine was made in the traditional Italian Ramato style: fermented on skins until dry. Lively for 7+ years. Grown in the Rorick Vineyard, high in the Sierra Foothills of Calaveras County. This Pinot gris is fermented on the skins in the traditional Italian ramato style. A pure and true conductor of terroir, the Dragone Ramato speaks evocatively of the combination of schist topsoil and dolemite-rich limestone subsoil that makes our family vineyard unique to the state.

TASTING NOTES

Fruit-led nose of apricots, nectarines, quince, peaches, stony notes. Bracingly tart on the palate, as watermelon and earthy flavors join.
