Dirty & Rowdy Mourvedre Enz Vineyard

$20

ABOUT

100-year-old, dry-farmed, organic, own-rooted Mourvèdre on decomposed limestone and granite soils in Lime Kiln Valley AVA, San Benito County. The grapes are spontaneously fermented whole cluster, and aged in neutral barrels. Like the 2017 Unfamiliar wines, the winery did have to filter this wine for volatile acidity. It received a more gentle / shorter filtration than the Unfamiliar Red. Delicious, earthy, lively, and deep. This is one of those rare Cali gems that we are excited to run across!

TASTING NOTES

Licorice, orange peel, raspberry, spices with a Mediterranean hint. Distinctive tannic structure, best after some time spent in the carafe.
