Murray McDavid weaponized this truth with its Cask Craft series, rescuing exceptional distillate from obscure blending vats and giving it the spotlight it deserves. Dailuaine remains an enigma for casual drinkers. Yet, this Speyside workhorse produces a notoriously heavy, meaty spirit that begs for clever maturation. The blending team tempered that dense maltiness by finishing the whisky in small bourbon quarter casks from Chicago's Koval Distillery. It is a brilliant move! The smaller barrels accelerate the oak influence, driving intense waves of caramelized sugars and vanilla directly into the muscular spirit for phenomenal balance.

Expect a wildly dynamic tasting experience. Aggressive copper contact during distillation strips away harsh impurities, leaving a robust backbone primed for these hyper-active American oak casks. Bottled at a highly respectable 89 proof without chill filtration, the liquid retains all its natural oils, fatty acids, and heavy esters. This intentional lack of filtration creates a remarkably viscous mouthfeel that coats the palate, refusing to let go until the final drop fades. It delivers an unexpected jolt of orchard fruit brightness that slices brilliantly through the heavier cereal notes. You rarely find this level of intricate craftsmanship at such an accessible price point!

Matured initially in refill bourbon hogsheads

Finished in Koval Distillery bourbon quarter casks

Un-chillfiltered and bottled at 44.5% ABV (89 Proof)

Distilled at the Dailuaine Distillery in Speyside, Scotland

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0173/0930/files/Square-2_04881fd2-c270-4875-b945-6014a1852360.jpg?v=1792222623
https://dewinespot.co/products/murray-mcdavid-cask-craft-dailuaine-bourbon-cask-finish-single-malt-scotch-whisky
