Frank August captures that exact climatic magic within Case Study 08, a masterclass in wheated bourbon architecture. Eight meticulous batches form this reserve. These carefully isolated barrels weathered nearly nine brutal Kentucky winters, extracting profound depths of flavor from the American oak. We rarely encounter such precise environmental focus yielding an architecture this intricate, proving without a doubt that extreme seasonal elements forge truly spectacular, multidimensional bourbon.

The liquid itself pours a dark burnished copper, telegraphing the viscosity and richness awaiting your palate. Wheat softens the typical rye spice, allowing a luxurious, velvety texture to coat the glass. Thick legs fall deliberately slowly. You get a whiskey that leverages its robust 108.8 proof not for aggressive heat, but to expand the underlying structural complexity. Every sip unravels a tightly woven tapestry of dark caramel and toasted pecan, ensuring the elevated strength acts as a magnifying glass for the spirit's deepest nuances rather than functioning as a blunt instrument.

Frank August packages this expression in their signature minimalist glass decanter, reflecting a deep respect for contemporary craftsmanship. It feels substantial in hand. Collectors gravitate toward the numbered neck label, though the true treasure remains entirely inside the bottle. This limited-edition release stands as a pivotal pour for dedicated enthusiasts who relentlessly crave mature oak and caramelized sweetness intertwined in absolute, undeniable harmony.

Barrel Strength at 108.8 Proof

Winter Distillation Exclusivity

Custom Minimalist Decanter

https://dewinespot.co/products/frank-august-case-study-08-legacy-reserve-bourbon-kentucky-straight-bourbon-whisky
